WHO PAYS FOR YOUR TRIP
At Rhythm Medical Transportation, knowing what services are covered under the different insurance programs can be a challenging, yet a vital part when searching for a provider. We want our customers to be well informed throughout the process.
Who pays for the trip?
Currently, Rhythm Medical Transportation, Inc. participate in the following networks: Aetna, Americhoice, AmeriHealth, Bravo Health, CHN, Cigna, First MCO, First Trenton Indemnity, HealthNet, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, Horizon NJ Health, Liberty Mutual, MagnaCare, Multiplan, NJ Manufacturer’s, Oxford Healthcare, Three Rivers Provider Network, United Healthcare, and Logisticare.
THE MEDICARE PROGRAM
What does the Medicare Program Cover?
The Medicare Program DOES cover:
- Transports to and from hospitals if the receiving hospital is the closest facility
- The patient will be responsible for additional mileage to any other facility unless it is to receive a medically necessary service not provided at the original facility
- Transports to approved dialysis facilities
- Documented emergency transports
- Transports between SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) and a hospital
What is not covered under the Medicare Program?
The Medicare Program does NOT cover:
- Transportation in wheelchair vans or cars
- Transportation by stretcher to doctor’s office
Who is the Medicare Program designed for?
The Medicare Program was designed for:
- Those over 65 and not covered by group insurance, by spouse or current employer
- Those who are permanently disabled for 2 or more years, even if under 65
- End-Stage Renal Disease
- Adult disabled child of a Medicare beneficiary
MODIVCARE
MODIVCARE is a contracted medical transportation broker for the state of New Jersey to coordinate transportation for Medicaid recipients.
- Trips must be set up 48 business hours in advance unless the appointment being set up is considered an urgent matter.
- MODIVCARE accepts Medicaid pending patients.
Dual eligible patients should be called into Rhythm Medical Transportation for consultation.
